*** VERIFIED 2026-09-08 from the ICIJ Offshore Leaks Database (Paradise Papers / Appleby corporate records): LIQUID FUNDING, LTD., Bermuda, incorporated 2000-10-19, agent Appleby; JEFFREY E. EPSTEIN listed as DIRECTOR and CHAIRMAN 2001-11-09 to 2007-03-19. This is the entity's own offshore corporate record naming Epstein — the FINANCIAL/Wall Street track, distinct from the VI/property shells and the only new entity from the 48-item public compilation cross-check. CONTEXT (well-sourced secondary — SEC filings, Fitch/Moody's, Wall Street on Parade): a structured-finance/repo conduit; INVESTMENT MANAGER Bear Stearns Bank Plc (Dublin), which held 40% of the equity per a Bear Stearns SEC filing (other 60% undisclosed); ~$6.7B outstanding liabilities (Fitch 2006), up to $20B issuance capacity; held AAA-rated MBS/CLOs; legal counsel Sidley Austin, auditor Deloitte. After Bear Stearns collapsed (2008), JPMorgan Bank Dublin took over as investment manager and JPMorgan was Security Trustee; JPMorgan extended a $250M liquidity facility (co-arranged BofA, Natexis) and held ~$100M of its paper in money-market funds. Moody's declared its liabilities 'paid in full' April 2008. JPMorgan resurrected the entity in 2011 (Liam MacNamara, ex-Bear Stearns Dublin, as chairman). OPEN / TO PULL AS PRIMARIES: (1) the Bear Stearns SEC filing stating the 40% (SEC EDGAR); (2) the undisclosed 60% owners; (3) whether Liquid Funding assets were among the ~$30B Bear Stearns toxic assets the Fed's MAIDEN LANE LLC absorbed in 2008 (suspicion, not confirmed); (4) Liquid Funding Holdings, LLC (the shareholder — see its own ICIJ node). The Epstein directorship dates (2001-2007) overlap the period of the conduct alleged by DOJ. | SEC EDGAR FULL-TEXT CHECK 2026-09-08: searching 'Liquid Funding' in EDGAR FTS (covers 2001-present) returns only ~8 hits, ALL from the 2008 JPMorgan/Bear Stearns MERGER filings (JPM S-4s and 424B3 prospectuses; Bear Stearns Companies Inc DEFM14A, 2008-04-28) — where it appears incidentally as one of Bear's entities. It does NOT appear in the searchable text of Bear Stearns' 2004-2007 10-Ks, so the entity was not named in the periodic-report text (consistent with an off-balance-sheet conduit). The '40% Bear Stearns' figure therefore stays SECONDARY-sourced (Wall Street on Parade, citing a Bear filing/exhibit) — a clean 10-K primary did not surface via FTS. Entity verification is unaffected: it rests on the ICIJ/Paradise Papers Appleby corporate record (Epstein as chairman). Optional primary to check by hand: the DEFM14A (2008-04-28). Higher-value open thread remains the Maiden Lane/Fed bailout question (Fed disclosures / MuckRock FOIA), not the 40%. | DIP 2026-09-08: (a) the ICIJ Paradise Papers narrative names NO other Epstein offshore entities beyond Liquid Funding — that vein is not additive past what we have. (b) Director Marcus Klug is quoted saying there was 'neither a physical board meeting nor a call between board members' and 'I never met him' — a shell-company indicator (nominal board). (c) The shareholder Liquid Funding Holdings, LLC is administered by Global Securitization Services (Babylon NY), no personal Epstein tie — securitization plumbing. (d) MAIDEN LANE question STILL OPEN: the MuckRock FOIA page (was Liquid Funding in the Fed's Maiden Lane LLC?) is inaccessible (403); the authoritative route is the Federal Reserve's 2010 CUSIP-level Maiden Lane LLC holdings disclosure (BlackRock-managed) + federalreserve.gov/newsevents/reform_bearstearns.htm — deferred as a deeper dig, not a toe-dip.
